The Prize is a not for profit company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. It has a Board of Directors and Company Secretary, all of whom are unremunerated for their duties.
Professor Peter Stead, Director and Chairman
Peter is a historian and broadcaster. The Prize was his idea and he was a founding Board member. His is also the Board representative on the panel of judges for the Prize.
Geoff Haden, Director
Geoff had been heavily involved with tourism and Dylan Thomas in South Wales for many years. He and his wife Anne have lovingly restored Dylan's birthplace at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive to its period character. Geoff was a founding Board member.
Professor Kurt Heinzelman, Director
Kurt is Professor of Poetry and Poetics in the Department of English at the University of Texas. He has been involved with the Prize since the first award and has hosted winning authors at the University of Texas. He has also supported shortlisted authors during their stay in Wales prior to each Prize award.
Jeannette McLellan, Director
Jeannette is a partner at Bevan and Buckland accountants and oversees the finances of the Prize. Jeannette joined the Prize Board in 2008 and, alongside company secretary Michael Williams, successfully guided the Prize towards charitable status.
Michael Williams, Company Secretary
Michael is a partner at JCP Solicitors. He is Company Secretary to the Prize and supports and advises the Board. He joined in 2008.
